The Kiser Edge® is the 3-point tractor arena drag that started a revolution in the way horse arena drags prepare arena footing (dirt riding surface). Unlike all other three point arena drags the Kiser Edge® incorporates patent pending "Base Safe" "Profile Blade Technology." This technology grooms every square inch of the footing material and safely cleans the base, under the surface, of dangerous compaction layers. On the surface it creates the ultimate finish & premium cushion. Other drags maintain the arena with scarifier/ripping teeth that groom from the surface down- leaving ridging and waves. With competitors drags the top surface might look well groomed but the horse will NOT appreciate having to ride on ridges under the surface. The Edge is the only 3 point arena drag has the ability to create a clean smooth base and perfectly finish the top footing material on every pass. The front "push blades" fill in hoof prints and low arena making a smooth path for the stabilizing wheels. The "stabilizing wheels" float on top of the footing stabilizing the Edge and preventing it from going any deeper than the profile blades are set. The "profile blades" loosen 100% of the footing layer lifting it to add air for cushion and cleans the base of compaction. The "floating comb" then pulverizes dirt clods, smooths & leaves a beautiful signature finish to the arena. The Edge does all this without displacing more footing material than is needed and with very little operator skill required! The "Profile Blade Technology" is now also used on the big brother to the Kiser Edge; the world's best arena drag the Kiser Dragmaster. The Edge is available in 6', 8' & 10' versions to suit most any tractor and facility requirements. Designed by Bob Kiser to deliver Kiser brand quality results for the compact tractor.
Revolutionary Design:
Designed by the World's leading expert on horse arena footing, Bob Kiser, the Edge offers a radical change in arena footing maintenance. With its revolutionary "Profile Blade Technology" the Edge grooms every square inch of the footing material and safely cleans the base, under the surface, of dangerous compaction layers. For the first time, compact tractors operators with a 3 point hitch can achieve Kiser quality results at an affordable price.
Push Blade:
The "push" blade pushes the arena footing ahead filling in hoof prints and low spots. This smoothes out the arena and leaves level ground for the stabilizing wheels to travel over; keeping the Edge from bouncing and leaving a “wash board” effect behind. You will notice that the push blade is angled so that if it picks up too much material the footing simply flows over the top of the blade thus eliminating creating big holes in the arena by displacing too much material.
Stabilizing / Gauge Wheels:
The stabilizing wheels are the most critical part of the Edge design. Without substantial wheels a three point tool tends to “dip” in and out of the footing making most three point tools dangerous to a base material and nearly impossible to effectively use. But the stabilizing wheels on the Edge allow the operator to set the depth of the profile blade and keep the depth consistent without going into the base. Once this tool is properly set the operator simply lowers the tool to the ground a drives the tractor with no hydraulic or 3 point adjustments necessary.
Profile Blades:
The “profile blades” are at the heart of the Edge. Because of this unique concept the desire to loosen footing without creating ridges can finally be realized. Similar to a sod cutting blade the “profile blades” cut parallel to the arena grade. So, instead of “ripping” through footing with perpendicular teeth these “profile blades” slice through the footing in quarter inch increments and loosen the footing as deep as seven inches. Now with every single pass of the tractor the Edge will be loosing 100% of the footing! This saves an enormous amount of time on the tractor because the driver no longer has to make two or three passes over the same footing with different patterns! The profile blade cleans the base of compaction and lifts the footing material to add cushion.
Floating Comb / Rake:
The final point of contact is the adjustable floating comb that allows for customizable pressure to be applied to the footing. This enables the Edge to achieve the desired finish no matter the consistency of the footing material. The floating comb (rake) additionally breaks up dirt clods and produces a beautiful signature finish. It is constructed of 3/4" wear resistant hardened steel and is replaceable in sections.
Superior Manufacturing:
ABI products are manufactured in a 700,000 sq./ft. state-of-the-art facility employing hundreds of qualified U.S. workers. Steel is brought in by rail, stored indoors, cut and milled to specification and moved about the facility via massive overhead programmable cranes. These overhead cranes bring the materials to the welding stations that employ both robotic and conventional welding. The steel components then go through a state-of-the-art cleaning with 2 acid washes and sand blasting. The completed components are then given a architectural grade powder coating. Assembly is then completed by specially trained workers. All this is completed in-house so quality is controlled throughout manufacturing.
Architectural Grade Powder Coating:
Not all powder coating processes are created equal, but you can rest assured that the multi-step powder coating process used on ABI products is second to none. Proper material selection, roofed-storage, innovative cleaning & preparation, state-of-the-art equipment, and industry leading "trade-secret" techniques enable ABI to offer a true architectural grade powder coating on all products. The benefits of this architectural grade powder coating includes better rust resistance, a fantastic finish and a longer service life. UV inhibitors are applied to resist the damaging affects of the sun.
ABI offers the most comprehensive suite of both standard and optional investment protection. The standard 1 year warranty and 30 day risk free trial are included. The optional extended warranty increases coverage to a complete 5 years and offers additional bent and/or damaged frame replacement benefits. Read the PDF and watch the video to learn more about our warranties.
Ripping Teeth:
For certain hard packed types of footing, that have a lot of clay or stone fines, it may be necessary to temporarily replace the Edge’s leveling blade with the optional ripping teeth. These teeth will break up the hardest footing allowing the “profile blades” to easily slice through the ground. Once the compacted footing is loose simply remove the ripping teeth and put back the leveling blade. If you regularly groom your arena you will not have to use the ripping teeth very often. Tipe are replaceable.
Rail / Wall Blade:
The rail blade attaches to the frame with a large pin. The shovel cuts into the built up material along arena walls and rails and pulls it away, saving the user time and effort.
"The Kiser Edge saved me thousands and thousands of dollars, our Arena was in such bad shape that we were going to have it all dug out and redone. But when we got the Kiser Edge, in one day I was able to ride on it and I had my arena in the best shape it's ever been in. I recommend it to anyone who thinks that there arena is done for. I am 65 years old and I have seen a lot of products who say they can do what the Kiser does but none of them even come close to its ability and the technology that the Kiser Edge has. It is easy for me to use and is so simple to manipulate it into doing what you need. I love it and I wouldn't ever think of buying a tool from any other company." - Diana From Oregon
"The Kiser Edge is great. I have cutting horses and before I bought my Kiser I Had a horse get hurt because my base was uneven. The price of the Kiser Edge wasn't anything compared to my vet bills, but since I got the Kiser I haven't had one problem with my horses soundness and my arena looks great!" - Anthony From Minnesota
"What's amazing about the Kiser Edge is that it is the first piece of arena equipment that I have used that does not leave perpendicular lines in the arena from the digging that teeth can do. Instead, this slices through the arena making it flat and smooth like it really should be. I was a little skeptical at first when I saw the Kiser Edge, but it is amazing what it has done. In the first use I saw immediate results not only with smoother footing but a better base. True Kiser results for the compact tractor!" - Al From Arizona
"The Kiser Edge works Great for me and it's perfect for my arena." - Don From Ohio
"We love the Kiser Edge because there is just not another drag that works as well as it does. The amazing thing about Profile Blade Technology is it gets under the soil and grades 100 percent of my arena with just one pass. It lifts my footing up and gives it the perfect cushion." - Cheyenne From Maryland
"The Kiser Edge works great. It has never once failed me; it always does the job I want it to. I couldn't be happier." - Martha Jo From Texas
"Ever since the arrival of the Kiser Edge everyone is extremely happy with the footing the groomer provides. I wanted to say thank you for all of your help. The 4-H truly appreciates it and ultimately the kids will as well. ABI has been great to work with and I wanted to make sure you all knew that." - Lisa From Pennsylvania
"I love my Kiser Edge. The only problem I have is that I don't have two of them. It works amazingly well and keeps my arena in perfect condition all the time. The thing I like about the Kiser Edge the most would have to be that its small, lightweight, and easy to use in tight areas. We barrel race and so we needed a tool that was tough enough to grade our arena but also sleek and slim enough to get around the barrels tightly. The profile blade is the best thing I have seen in the horse market yet. The way it slices from the bottom up and makes every inch of your arena 100 percent level is incredible and I couldn't be happier." - Anthony From New Mexico
